About Jessica

Council needs to reflect our community and as a mother and businesswoman, I can bring my direct experience and ideas to the important decisions we need to make for Marlborough.

I believe rates must be used effectively for the benefit of everyone and Council's decision-making has to be transparent. Councillors have to be accountable for their decisions. I have a clear view of what we need to do to create a strong and safe community as well as a positive vision for Marlborough to encourage investment in our province.

My partner Andy and I are active in the community. We have children at Marlborough Boys College, Queen Charlotte College, Witherlea Primary and Richmond View School, and understand issues facing families in today's economic and social climate.

I am proud to live in Marlborough. And I will bring a fresh, independent face to Council.

My Message for Business

These are challenging times for our region. The foundation for growth that the development of our wine infrastructure has provided is over for the moment.

We need to look to our natural assets - our people, our amazing environment from the Sounds up to the Molesworth, our traditional primary industries and our infrastructure - to form the basis of our future.

As a business community, we need to move outside our own silos, look for common ground to work together to attract investment and make sure that investment goes forward, to preserve as many jobs as possible so we are well positioned for the upturn when it comes, develop an appropriate infrastructure for the future.

I have a range of ideas which I believe can help to address these issues and I welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you.
